Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield: the pitch renovation at the José Amalfitani Stadium

Between December 2022 and January 2023, the Argentine First Division team Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield chose us to carry out the pitch modernisation works at the José Amalfitani Stadium.

This time, however, our Horizon hybrid turf system was already in Argentina: it had been installed and subsequently seeded a few months before the start of the stadium works, inside the club’s training centre.

Work process

Since ready-to-use big rolls were not available, the work was divided between two separate teams:

• one team managed the turf cutting and the subsequent rolling of the Horizon big rolls from the training centre
• the other team took care of the pitch preparation at the José Amalfitani Stadium and the installation of the Horizon hybrid turf rolls

In this way, the entire process was perfectly coordinated.

Project completion

The pitch renovation works at the José Amalfitani Stadium were completed in just 13 days.

And there’s more.

Since that day, thanks above all to the constant care of the groundsman team and a well-executed routine maintenance plan, the pitch has never required any returfing work.
