FLexGrass brings the first hybrid pitch to Peru

Lima, FLexGrass brings the first hybrid pitch to Peru for the Federación Peruana de Fútbol

About six months ago, we began renovation works at the training centre of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) in Lima, with the goal of turning it into the first hybrid pitch in Peru.

To deliver the project, the FLexGrass LATAM team partnered with TMSGrass, a leading partner in the sports surfaces sector across South America.

This collaboration brought together technical expertise, local market knowledge and innovative solutions to create the first FLexGrass hybrid pitch in Lima.

Coordination and project management

The main challenge was undoubtedly coordinating and organising the works efficiently, given the distance between our operational bases and the project site.

But thanks to experience built up over time, every phase of the project was managed effectively:

• base layer and drainage system renovation
• synthetic fibre injection to reinforce the sub-base with the Vertix hybrid system
• seeding

Seeding

To complete construction of the first hybrid pitch in Peru, once the stitching/seaming process was finished, the team moved on to seeding the playing surface.

Seeding was carried out using Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon), a warm-season species suited to hot climates.

FLexGrass continues to grow as a benchmark for next-generation sports surfaces, strengthening its presence in South America and looking to the future of sport with ambition and a global vision.
