The New Valgersa Sports Centre Has Been Fitted with the Horizon Hybrid Turf System
In the first months of 2025, we began the sub-base reconstruction works at Valgersa Sports Centre, in the municipality of Savosa, Ticino.
An ambitious and rewarding project, completed on 20 September 2025 with the opening ceremony of the facility, which is now equipped with a latest-generation hybrid grass pitch.
Excavation, Sub-Base and Drainage Works
The initial conditions showed a pitch in a poor state, with significant drainage issues causing widespread ponding, muddy areas and, consequently, reduced pitch playability.
A major redevelopment programme was therefore required:
- construction of a new pitch sub-base
- installation of a new high-performance drainage system
- installation of a new irrigation system
Installation of the Horizon Carpet System and Seeding
Once the sub-base reconstruction works at Valgersa Sports Centre had been completed, we installed the Horizon carpet system, a latest-generation synthetic turf carpet that forms the structural base of our hybrid turf solution.
A few days after installation, we seeded the pitch directly in situ, allowing the natural grass component to establish and integrate with the artificial structure.
The result? Valgersa Sports Centre now has a playing surface comparable to those used by top professional clubs.
The Horizon hybrid turf system delivers high wear resistance, surface stability and performance, helping ensure optimal playing conditions for sports activity throughout the year.
